Role Summary.
Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Leader, working within the UK business unit as a successful Strategic Sourcing Specialist; you are responsible for the full end-to-end Sourcing & procurement process for the assigned commodities and projects. This includes direct material procurement in a project environment, dealing with global and local suppliers.
Please note: This role is being offered as a FTC to cover maternity leave within the team.
Responsibilities.
* Execute across the purchase base, with full accountability for meeting deflation (savings), usage, cash, and preferred supplier targets, limiting/mitigating erosions (overspends).
* Ensure business compliance is followed, including authorizations, processes, and controls.
* Own the day-to-day execution of the transactional procurement process, including approving and converting purchase requisitions/engineering requirements into purchase orders. Manage purchase orders, expediting, supplier monitoring, and delivery schedules (NCRs/Invoice queries).
* Manage engineering changes on open orders within the supply chain.
* Manage operational relationships with suppliers.
* Optimize inventory and implement process improvements.
* Resolve problems using experience and expertise.
* Identify, review, and propose new suppliers.
* Support escalation issues related to invoice payment resolution.
Qualifications / Requirements.
* CIPS qualification (desirable, not essential).
* Good experience within transactional purchasing (SAP), expediting, supply chain management, preferably with a manufacturing/engineering background.
* Ability to understand purchasing contract legal terms and lead negotiations.
* Ability to review engineering requirements and cost/budget for sub-contract manufacturing.
* Ability to read and interpret BOMs, technical drawings, and statements of work.
* Willingness and ability to travel if required.
* Proficiency with SAP and AP systems (MRP).
