Head of External Communications – London Fire Brigade
London Fire Brigade is London’s Fire and rescue service where staff are driven by a strong sense of purpose: to serve and protect London. The Brigade needs external communications that reflect its context, challenges, and opportunities, and an External Communications team driven by insight, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and delivering exemplar activities that enable this iconic organisation to be fit, supported, and trusted to serve and protect London.
The role is a key part of the Communications and Engagement Directorate’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Director of Communications & Engagement, and acting as a senior adviser to the Commissioner, Directors and Heads of Services.
The successful candidate will have experience in a senior role, managing an external communications function in a similar sized organisation. They will have a proven track record in leading, developing and coordinating external communications to deliver inspiring, effective, fully integrated communications campaigns.
