This role is available to start ASAP or from April. We are seeking a School Mental Health Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Milton Keynes. Ideal candidates are graduates or soon‑to‑graduate students in Psychology, Criminology, or related fields, with aspirations toward Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or wider mental health roles.
Responsibilities
* Support children with special educational needs, including SEMH, autism, and behavioural difficulties.
* Provide consistent and stable support over a minimum of 12 months.
* Collaborate with teaching and support teams to deliver individualized learning plans.
* Assist with behaviour management and emotional wellbeing strategies.
* Record observations and progress reports in accordance with school policy.
Qualifications and Experience
* Graduate or soon‑to‑be graduate in Psychology, Criminology or a related field.
* Interest and knowledge in educational and mental health practices.
* Experience working with children in any setting is beneficial but not mandatory.
* Resilient, motivated, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners.
