Security Officer – KP Snacks Ashby De La Zouch
📍 Ashby De La Zouch | £12.61 per hour | 42 hours per week | 4 on, 4 off (12‑hour days only)
Job Overview
Protect customer property, people and assets by delivering security services in full accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement and maintain a service that aids in the retention of the contract. Undertake continuous training to ensure continuous self‑development.
Main Duties
* Comply with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements, including UK law and guidance bodies.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
* Proactively review the published Assignment Instructions for any changes and suggest amendments that improve service.
* Wear required licences (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and renew the SIA licence 16 weeks before expiry.
* Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
* Gate house duties: log delivery vehicles, sign contractors in and out, ensure all passes are handed back.
Training & Development
* Fully complete all required competency training.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
Security & Health & Safety
* Immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce risk.
* Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct when dealing with difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete an accurate notebook entry after any incident for the Incident Report process.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the scheduled time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous Security Experience
* SIA License
* SC Clearance desirable
