The Opportunity:
We’re seeking a commercially minded and detail-oriented qualified accountant to take ownership of core finance operations within a fast-growing international business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building structure, maintaining strong financial controls, and operating within a dynamic, scaling environment.
Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of the finance function as the organisation continues its international growth trajectory. The role is based in London and reports directly into the senior finance leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Control:
* Maintain and oversee accurate general ledger records across multiple business activities and entities
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, timely reconciliation and appropriate supporting documentation
* Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain accounting accuracy
* Support monthly and annual close processes in line with internal reporting deadlines and accounting standards
Statutory Reporting & Compliance:
* Prepare financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards and support external reporting requirements
* Ensure financial records and supporting documentation remain organised and audit-ready
* Assist with technical accounting matters relating to new commercial activities, contracts and revenue streams
* Prepare VAT submissions and support broader tax compliance requirements across the business
* Maintain robust expense and employee benefit reporting processes
* Contribute to the development and improvement of internal controls, governance and finance procedures
Business Partnering & Growth Support:
* Work closely with finance leadership to support management reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities
* Provide financial analysis and technical accounting support for strategic projects, investment activity and commercial initiatives
* Support international expansion through multi-entity accounting, intercompany reconciliations and foreign currency processes
* Collaborate cross-functionally with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve financial visibility and reporting quality
Candidate Profile:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Background within accounting, audit or finance operations, ideally with exposure to scaling or entrepreneurial businesses
* Strong technical accounting foundation with excellent attention to detail
* Advanced Excel / Google Sheets capability and experience using cloud-based accounting platforms
* Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with evolving processes and priorities
* Self-sufficient, proactive and solutions-oriented with a strong sense of ownership
* Someone motivated by building scalable, reliable finance infrastructure for long-term growth
* International finance exposure or experience supporting European entities would be advantageous
