Job Title
Maintenance Inspection Manager (Mechanical) – on-site technical authority for Category 4 & 5 service works. This leadership role ensures all mechanical maintenance, inspection, and service activities meet customer requirements, technical specifications, industry standards, and contractual timelines. Acting as both a technical expert and hands-on support to daily site operations, the Maintenance Manager drives QHSE excellence, guides field teams, and strengthens Kanadevia Inova’s position as a trusted technical partner. We are looking for someone who is familiar with grates and grate technology and used to driving works at site.
Responsibilities
* Technical Oversight & Maintenance Execution
o Lead detailed inspections and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with mechanical, quality, and safety standards.
o Serve as the primary on-site technical authority and customer-facing expert for mechanical matters.
o Identify, report, and help resolve mechanical deviations or issues impacting performance or scope.
o Provide expert direction on dismantling, assembly, installation, and maintenance tasks.
o Ensure all mechanical works align with technical specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and contractual requirements.
* Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
o Mentor and develop field service teams in mechanical best practices and safe working methods.
o Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Account Managers, Technical Services, BL WtX, and Pools to coordinate work execution.
o Support a strong performance culture built on safety, quality, and teamwork.
o Drive improvements to maintenance processes, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
o Contribute to continuous improvement and technical development initiatives across service operations.
* Compliance & Reporting
o Enforce strict adherence to QHSE standards through inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
o Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance records, inspection reports, time sheets, and incident logs.
o Ensure all reporting supports traceability, compliance, and technical accuracy.
o Support audits, customer reviews, and internal compliance processes.
* Local Responsibilities
o Plan and execute mechanical service and project activities safely, on time, and on budget using both direct and subcontracted teams.
o Represent Kanadevia Inova professionally on-site, ensuring exceptional customer engagement and satisfaction.
o Apply deep mechanical knowledge of solid-fuelled power plant technology.
o Conduct troubleshooting, diagnosis, and maintenance on grate and combustion equipment.
o Support tendering and cost modelling by estimating manpower and technical requirements.
Qualifications
* Higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
* Familiar with grates and grate technology and used to driving works at site. Ideally.
* Mid-to-senior level experience in mechanical maintenance, field service, or operations—ideally within Power Plants, Waste-to-Energy, or industrial facilities.
* Proven experience in hands-on mechanical inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance management.
* Familiarity with matrix organisations and digital field service/maintenance management tools.
* Fluent in the local language and English; additional languages are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary between £55,000-£65,000 per annum dependent on experience. This role can sometimes attract significant overtime, leading to higher earnings. We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:
