The role
Are you driven by the challenge of shaping economic growth, attracting high‑value investment, and building strategic industry partnerships? This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening one of Australia's most dynamic regions.
As the Associate Director - Investment, Industry & Partnerships you will facilitate industry growth and investment lead generation by proactively engaging with businesses to encourage investment and establishment of operations in Bradfield City Centre and the broader Aerotropolis. This involves collaborating with businesses, government agencies, and research institutions to identify opportunities for innovation, investment and expansion. The role provides strategic advice in the delivery of commercial initiatives across the Authority, that support industry development and investment attraction.
What you'll be doing
* Conducting strategic market research to identify, assess, and prioritise potential investors, developing tailored engagement strategies that align with regional investment objectives.
* Leading pitching and stakeholder engagement across key industry sectors, designing and executing pursuit plans that convert opportunities into tangible outcomes.
* Acting as a trusted industry advisor by providing deep sector insights, developing compelling value propositions, and showcasing the region's unique advantages to domestic and international investors.
* Managing high‑value relationships with investors, companies, commercial property developers, and government agencies, leveraging networks and technology to facilitate successful investment outcomes.
* Identifying emerging industry trends and analysing their implications for the region's economic development and strategic priorities.
* Developing targeted marketing materials that support investor engagement and industry outreach, ensuring alignment with broader strategic objectives.
* Building strong partnerships across the Authority, NSW and Commonwealth agencies, and industry experts to drive investment attraction.
* Providing accurate policy insights on Commonwealth and State Government positions, incentives, and regulatory settings to support industry growth and investor decision‑making.
* Communicating with influence through clear, timely written and verbal updates that progress projects and strengthen stakeholder confidence.

What you will bring to the role
* Proven experience and understanding of the delivery of commercial, industry or economic development initiatives.
* Experience or demonstrated knowledge of commercial property development to support targeted investment pursuits and discussions.
* Demonstrated research, analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills, including an ability to use quantitative information and construct compelling narratives.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to build relationships, exercise leadership and influence in dealings with internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience in gaining the buy-in and support of multiple stakeholders, balancing conflicting needs and interests and concurrent competing demands, in a high-pressure environment.
* Working in diverse teams and effectively engaging with and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to achieve outcomes in an adaptive business and policy environment including personal resilience and flexibility.
