The Project Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient provision of Network Investment projects, with strict adherence to the appropriate regulatory and license obligations for the electricity distribution network.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Project Manager, you will:
* Deliver district targets & milestones outputs in line with financial, regulatory and business plan objectives whilst optimising return through incentive mechanisms.
* Support delivery of planned & reactive outputs and ensure network resilience is maintained through active customer and stakeholder engagement.
* Drive robust project plans from the team to facilitate business deliverables in line with district and licence plans which are devised to minimise outages to customers.Ensure efficient and effective delivery of operational performance targets whilst demonstrating changes to drive improvements where appropriate, such as; Customer minutes lost, customer interruptions, restoration time; Broad Measure of Customer Satisfaction; Guaranteed Standards; Utilisation of equipment & technology.To drive continual performance improvement through analysis of process & outputs working closely with the central licence teams to understand programme position & risks.
* Integrate asset stewardship and ownership values through sound engineering principles and coordinated planning and delivery activities to improve integrity, safety and longevity of the electrical network.
* Continuously support & develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours amongst the team through the mentoring and training of all team members, graduates and trainees.Lead the integration of Operational Excellence principles in all undertakings.
* Ensure the accurate and timely capture and recording of data within corporate systems and ensuring excellent housekeeping across the team for all corporate data actions such as; volumes, closures, commercials, audits etc.
* Be responsible for the quality and financial assurance of projects delivered by the team
* Contribute to robust governance & commercial rigor around any turn-key deliverables provided by service partners including performance, contract obligations, audits, safety & compliance and cost.
* Establish and maintain suitable governance within the team to track programme position (costs, volumes & dates) with consideration to both district targets & milestones and unit costs.
What You’ll Bring
You will have well-developed customer service, negotiation, and communications skills, along with excellent organisation and time management experience. Being able to make balanced decisions, considering all relevant information, and consulting with key stakeholders is important for this role, along with the following:
* Project or programme management experience, with a strong performance ethos and a track record of driving and delivering projects and initiatives.
* Knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.
* General contract, commercial and regulatory awareness with the ability to balance effective and efficient customer service and project delivery, ensuring maximum return on investment.
* Track record of effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
* Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels.
* Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal solution
* Technical and operational experience in a relevant engineering role up to and including 33kV is desirable
* Experience either directly or indirectly managing & leading people is desirable.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate as a minimum:
* Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience
* Proven experience in the delivery & project management of engineering projects, including both planned & reactive works.
* Solid computer literacy and the ability to use various Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, Project, Powerpoint etc.
* Willingness to travel as required.
