Rate of Pay: £13.70 - £17.65 per hour
Summary:
The Senior Social Work Assistant at Birmingham Children's Trust plays a crucial role in supporting social workers to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people in the city. This position involves direct casework, accurate information collection and analysis, providing practical day-to-day support to families, and effective partnership working with other professionals and agencies.
Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for an 'allocated worker' casework role, as assigned by the Team Manager/Social Worker.
* Ensure the well-being and safety of the child/young person is paramount through analysing all necessary information to complete assessments that comply with statutory requirements.
* Liaise and work with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people, ensuring services are 'joined up' in approach.
* Accurately record, report, and communicate using accurate, up-to-date evidence-based information in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.
* Take personal responsibility for your own professional development and reflective practice, and keep up-to-date with changes to legislation, court rules, policies, procedures, and best practice development.
* Observe the Birmingham Childrens Trust Equal Opportunities Policy.
Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or a related field.
Essentials:
* Experience of working with children and/or their families in a care setting.
* Basic understanding of the legislative framework applying to working with children and families in a statutory setting.
* An ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence using the English Language as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
