With access to Kier's impressive £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, you’ll be part of exciting initiatives across all sectors of the built environment.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Construction Engineering team, contributing to a wide range of complex construction engineering services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Understanding and agreeing on the technical requirements of client projects, ensuring clarity and challenging assumptions when necessary.
* Leading the development of fee proposals in line with our delegated authority policy.
* Organizing and guiding the daily workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team.
* Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies, including CDM Regulations and our Quality Management System.
* Overseeing the production of design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, reports, and design risk assessments.
* Identifying opportunities for value engineering and implementing approved solutions.
* Building positive relationships with clients and project teams to meet or exceed expectations.
* Representing Kier at project meetings and managing financial and commercial aspects with support from the Engineering and Commercial Managers.
* Maintaining project documentation and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
* Reviewing monthly invoices and seeking feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
* Have completed IEng Initial Professional Development (or CEng equivalent) with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE).
* Hold Level 6 or Level 7 qualifications along with significant industry experience.
