We are looking for a Community Support Worker to join our team in Poole, where you’ll become a trusted companion to a young man we support. Your role will be to encourage him to live more independently, whether that’s supporting with everyday tasks at home, exploring new hobbies and interests, or even gaining experience through work placements. Please note: Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship. To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK driving licence, however access to your own vehicle is not essential. The role George communicates using visual aids, PECS cards, signs and gestures, giving him his own unique way of sharing his thoughts and preferences. George has a wide range of interests — whether he’s watching the latest blockbuster at the cinema, belting out tunes at the local karaoke spot, or gliding through laps at the swimming pool. But when the rain rolls in, he happily settles indoors, diving into a good board game or curling up with a movie marathon, most often featuring his beloved Marvel films. George is supported on a 1:1 basis and is reliant on his support staff. He requires assistance with personal care, medication and meal preparation.
