Your new role
You will be part of our Finance team, where you will work closely with the business colleagues positively challenging them to achieve further financial success in this highly rewarding business.
The key focus areas of the role include:
Business Controlling / Enhanced Business Advisory
1. Applies mindset of proactive, forward looking and value creation in daily activities
2. Attends management meetings and presents financial results
3. Proactively flags risks and opportunities to management and follows up on actions
4. Working Capital – including WIP Analysis, Risk & Opportunities/Contingency management
Reporting & Analysis
5. Oversee Income Statement reporting (including Income Statement analysis)
6. Perform root cause analysis (including Staff Costs, Margins, Billing Ratio/Non Productive time)
7. Prepare management reporting commentary for relevant stakeholders
8. Ad hoc financial reporting as required (including year end audit)
9. Project analysis and reporting including – customer/project profitability/project mix vs. targets and potential risks and opportunities
Planning & Forecasting
10. Manage the budgeting/forecasting process through consultation and review with management
11. Ensure the budget and forecast is accurate and is bought into by business leaders
Continuous improvement
12. Take an active lead in the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives
About you

13. Strong academic background with a 2.1 or better in a relevant degree, ideally Qualified ACA/CIMA or another relevant professional qualification in finance
14. Proven commercial finance / business partnering experience within a consultancy (engineering consultancy experience is beneficial but not required)
15. Good understanding of project accounting/financial/management accounting principles
16. Robust analytical & modelling skills particularly using Excel
17. Experience with Group ERP systems
18. Flexibility and adaptability to engage with relevant stakeholders at all levels of the Business; remaining objective and preserving a strong sense of commercial awareness
19. Able to build positive business relationships and work collaboratively
