Overview
Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer / Experienced Paralegal - Complex Injury - Periodical Payments Order (PPO) Team at DAC Beachcroft. This role is within the national Catastrophic and Complex Injury Team, led by Liz Jones, and involves handling PPO cases and supporting high value tort claims.
What you will do
Your role will be twofold: (1) managing a portfolio of Periodical Payments Order (PPO) cases under the supervision of a partner, and (2) assisting that partner in handling high value and complex claims. The PPO work includes the post-litigation administration of PPO portfolios for insurers, including:
* Ensuring the efficient recalculation and administration of payments due to Claimants
* Dealing with the quantification and collection of any statutory funding repayments due to insurers
* Liaising directly with Claimants or their deputies/representatives on all PPO matters
* Liaising directly with insurers on those matters
* Collating management information on the cases as needed
Full training will be provided for this specialist role, with a large degree of autonomy and support available from the team and supervising partner.
The claims work will involve assisting the partner on traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury cases to ensure they are handled efficiently and proactively. Both aspects of the role require meeting client and firm needs, adhering to quality standards, and contributing to the commercial objectives of the firm. Responsibilities include:
* Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
* Achievement of agreed financial targets
* Prompt and accurate provision of management information
* Applying current technical expertise and case law
* Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through training and reading
Who you are
* Experience in Personal Injury claims; Catastrophic and Complex Injury experience is desirable but not essential
* Organised with good time management and diary management skills
* High level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures
* Team-oriented with willingness to share knowledge and support others
* Excellent relationship and client-handling skills with claimants and their representatives
