Overview
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Tesco Underwriting team in Edinburgh. The position is permanent, with hybrid office attendance including 1-2 days per week at one of our locations. Salary is £55,000 – £70,000 (DOE) plus annual bonus and benefits. Responsibilities
* Align procurement activities with Tesco Underwriting strategic objectives.
* Identify contract requirements and write specifications for existing and new contracts.
* Lead delivery of a major part of the contract management programme, taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission‑critical contracts.
* Build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside Tesco Underwriting.
* Keep track of risk parameters, identify deviations and report them to senior colleagues.
* Engage stakeholders by identifying needs, concerns and ensuring timely communication of business decisions.
* Support the TU Procurement Team with procurement activities, contract administration, tracking and reporting to maintain governance and efficiency.
* Deliver high savings targets through robust sourcing events while ensuring suppliers meet operational requirements and provide best value.
* Track and report on savings targets for specified sub‑categories using the agreed process.
* Build and develop supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and greater value across Tesco Underwriting.
* Support compliance with legal, ethical and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.
Qualifications
* Proven experience leading RFP processes for Tier‑1 suppliers.
* Experience in professional services and claims supply chain categories.
* Robust procurement experience for underwriting and claims services.
* Experience in motor, home or personal lines is advantageous.
* CIPS qualification or currently working towards it.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
* Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.
