Primary Cover Teacher – Mainstream Primary School – Wimborne, Dorset

Are you a dedicated and adaptable Primary Cover Teacher looking for a fulfilling role in a welcoming school environment?
GSL Education are recruiting a Primary Cover Teacher for a full-time, permanent position in a mainstream primary school in Wimborne, Dorset, starting September 2025. This role offers a daily rate of £93 – £140, dependent on experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who thrives on variety and can deliver engaging lessons across different year groups. You will play a key role in ensuring learning continues seamlessly during staff absences, supporting pupils’ academic and personal development.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum in line with school planning
* Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
* Adapt teaching strategies to suit the needs of individual pupils and groups
* Encourage active participation and engagement in learning
* Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to relevant staff
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives
* Uphold the school’s policies and safeguarding standards
* Participate in staff training and development as required
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Previous experience working as a Cover Teacher in primary schools.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
* Flexibility to work across all year groups and key stages
* Effective classroom management skills
* A commitment to inclusive education and pupil welfare
* Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
