Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to make a significant impact in healthcare? King’s Mill Hospital has an exciting opportunity for you. As a Hospital Out of Hours Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe clinical care is delivered outside of normal working hours within King’s Mill Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Providing strong clinical leadership within a multi-professional team. Offering advice, support, guidance, and education to nursing and junior medical staff.
* Being a role model and expert practitioner.
* Responding to critical issues, acute response and cardiac arrest calls as part of the Hospital Out of Hours team.
* Ensuring prompt support and effective clinical assessment/treatment.
* Developing advanced assessment skills and knowledge.
* Expanding professional practice in line with nursing professional codes.
* Undertaking procedures such as cannulations, venepuncture, ABGs, catheterisation, and 12-lead ECG recordings.
* Prioritising workloads with the aid of Nerve Centre.
* Undertaking audits and supporting improvement projects.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
* Experience in acute and/or out-of-hours clinical settings.
* Ability to provide clinical leadership and expert practice within a multi-professional team.
* Competence in cannulation, venepuncture, ABGs, catheterisation, and 12-lead ECG recording.
* Strong communication, decision-making, and prioritisation skills.
