Overview
Placement Project Engineer - Process Improvement role at apetito UK. The Undergraduate Placement Project Engineer - Process Improvement will work within the Process Improvement - Commercial team supporting the wider manufacturing team to deliver innovative solutions to the food manufacturing processes and improving financial performance.
You will be working on a range of projects with a variety of people across different levels and departments, both within manufacturing & supply chain (MSC) and the wider business.
Responsibilities
* Work on projects across manufacturing and supply chain to improve processes and financial performance.
* Interact with and experience all parts of the business.
* Co-ordinate and actively participate in specific projects.
* Develop general business skills and relationships while working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Engage with large data sets and complex manufacturing processes to inform improvements.
* Carry out data analysis, build data models to identify capacity constraints, and model upstream/downstream bottlenecks when installing new equipment.
* Design reports and KPIs to drive improvements and support Manufacturing and Supply Chain Digital Transformation projects.
Essential
* Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Engineering, with an expectation that you will receive a 22 or above.
* Passion for food and delivering the best quality product for customers.
* Keen to learn about the manufacturing and distribution of food.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
* Confident working with large data sets and able to analyze patterns to support solution development.
* Comfortable being hands-on and working in production areas to understand challenges and find solutions.
* Ability to interact with staff at all levels to support projects and tasks.
Desirable
* Experience of Project Management.
* Experience and interest in Microsoft VBA or other coding languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
* Excellent analysis, problem management, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated, able to own and manage workload with minimal supervision.
* Structured approach to work and ability to work well in a team setting and communicate professionally at all levels.
