We are looking for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join our Asset Compliance team. You will proactively support our compliance teams by carrying out asbestos surveys and inspections. Asbestos surveys will be carried out to the communal areas of our buildings, within domestic properties and to garages blocks to support us in ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative obligations for building safety. We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. Requirements Outline of Key Responsibilities Carry out asbestos surveys in line with our Asbestos Management Plan. This will include Re-Inspection and/or Management surveys for assessment of condition and Refurbishment/Demolition surveys for major intrusive works in occupied or void domestic properties and communal areas Ensure asbestos surveys and samples are undertaken out safely in accordance with safe working methods Undertake inspections and surveys of properties in order to diagnose more complex building defects, investigate complaints and help inform of remedial works Assist the Asbestos Lead by responding to queries from in house staff and contactors, attending contractor progress meetings and updating surveys following removal works Monitor compliance with relevant policies and procedures and formally advise managers on areas of non‐compliance We are looking for someone who has BOHS P402 Proficiency Certificate in Building Surveying Educated to HND level or above in a building or services related discipline or extensive work related experience Ability to assess & mitigate any health & safety risks & hazards associated with the building/construction industry Extensive knowledge of surveying buildings for the presence of asbestos throughout a range of property types Full UK driving licence Benefits In return, we are offering An annual salary of £42,894.71 We are committed to providing a healthy work-life balance for employees and their families, as such we operate hybrid working conditions from home and our office in Bury St Edmunds Flexible working around a 37 hour week Annual Leave - 28 days per year, (plus bank holidays) increasing to 32 days when you reach your 3rd year with us.
