What you would be do
ing
You will manage the Makerspace workshop and Makerspace team who are responsible for creating and delivering the range of the 'Maker Challenge programmes'. This includes line management of the Makerspace team, oversight of Makerspace budgets, overseeing health and safety and safeguarding for the space, programmes and staff, overseeing the recruiting, training and management of casual staff and managing the relationship with local schools, pupils and community groups. This also requires working with internal and external stakeholders, evaluating and reporting on funded projects, identifying new potential partners and opportunities for the Makerspace, raising the profile of the Makerspace and its projects and keeping abreast of innovations in makerspace technology to ensure that this makerspace is an exemp
lar.

The Reach Out Makerspace is a state-of-the-art educational facility at our White City Campus. It is dedicated to hands-on activities aimed at engaging school children creatively in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM
) subjects.
The workshop is run by a small and passionate team of people who are dedicated to helping young people innovate through hands-on learning experiences. The workshop has a variety of tools from 3D printers and laser cutters to sewing machines and woodworking tools. This unique immersive environment provides young people with a space to experiment, design a
nd innovate.This is a maternity cover full-time post, fixed term unt
il May 2027.
This post will be responsible for overseeing activities delivered on evenings, weekends, and school holidays, so flexibility in the approach to work
is required.
