Role Overview
As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the frontline support for our customers, mainly over the phone, providing advice and assistance.
Responsibilities
* Speak with customers via phone, email, or web chat to resolve questions or issues.
* Assist customers in paying the correct amount of tax at the right time.
* Process payments through various channels.
* Maintain and update customer records.
* Support customers online using webchat and email.
If assigned to our Debt Management team, duties additionally include discussing, calculating, and collecting interest and penalties for late payments or filings.
We operate shifts between 7:45am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday, with flexible work-from-home options for most roles.
Training is conducted in-office for 6-12 weeks, after which flexible working arrangements are available.
Application and Selection Process
Includes eligibility checks, application forms, a Civil Service Customer Service Test, and a video interview based on Civil Service Behaviours.

Minimum Requirements
No prior experience is necessary; full training will be provided. Key qualities include strong communication skills, a can-do attitude, resilience, and basic math skills.

Salary: £26,770 plus pension contributions. HMRC offers flexible working, generous leave, and other benefits.
