We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a Bournemouth school from October, working closely with pupils who present complex behavioural needs. This role is crucial in creating a stable, supportive atmosphere where students can build confidence and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities: Providing targeted one-to-one and small group support for students with challenging behaviour Implementing and reinforcing behaviour management plans and strategies tailored to individual needs Supporting students during crisis situations with de-escalation techniques and emotional regulation Recording and monitoring behaviour incidents accurately and sensitively Collaborating with teaching staff, SENCO, parents, and external professionals to deliver coordinated support Promoting a calm, safe, and respectful learning environment About You: Proven experience supporting children or young people with challenging and complex behaviour Strong knowledge of positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques Patient, calm under pressure, and able to respond flexibly to difficult situations Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students and colleagues Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support, SEND, or mental health support are highly desirable All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
