About the role
This role will specifically support our students to achieve their aspirations in maths, making positive progress from their starting point in Functional Skills and GCSE.
Main Responsibilities:
* Play a pivotal role in improving maths outcomes and achievement for students at The Sheffield College
* On an ongoing basis, work closely with assigned math's teaching staff to identify skills gaps for individuals and small groups of students and agree and define appropriate learning objectives to close learning gaps
* Provide specialist support for GCSE/Functional Skills math's, both within timetabled classes and as extra sessions for identified students
* Provide one-to-one and small group instruction to specified curriculum academies focusing on the development of math's skills; ensuring sessions are well planned, focused and are targeting skills gaps therefore enabling students to make good progress
* Plan and deliver focused exam support and revision sessions, which may include college holiday periods
* Select, adapt and devise materials for use with assigned students as appropriate
* Provide developmental feedback to ensure that students make expected levels of progress in relation to their starting points and effectively communicate this to math's, study programme and pastoral colleagues
* Track and monitor student progress using appropriate college systems, providing updates to other key staff when and where required
* When required cover classes to support an academy team
* Manage workload effectively ensuring students in all assigned classes are supported and make positive progress
* Support the enrolment and induction process to ensure students have a seamless transition onto the math's element of their study programme
* Support with the planning and implementation of all English and math's examinations
* Participate in CPD to improve own professional practice and offer the best support possible to students to achieve
* Liaise with subject and other specialist staff regarding student support requirements
* Clearly and confidently communicate with a range of stakeholders including parents and carers

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £32,523 - £36,566 per annum (this will be pro-rata'd to reflect the weeks worked) based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
