JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant that has a full, clean driving licence, basic administration skills and excellent listening and communication skills.
Working as the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant you will provide orientation and mobility services by travelling across the South region, driving and supporting colleagues with a disability or long-term condition.
As the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant you will form a close and trusting working relationship with the supported persons. Having a person-centred approach, good communication skills and flexibility and understanding are extremely important.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant:
1. Driving the person supported throughout the UK to offices within the organisation, for external meetings, multiple-day meetings including overnight stays and events as required
2. Providing sighted assistance to the person supported, including orientation and sighted guiding in unfamiliar environments, or other assistance as required
3. Locating addresses, planning routes and timings of journeys to ensure the supported person can fulfil their diary commitments in a punctual manner
4. Note taking at all relevant meetings, ensuring all documentation is accessible
5. Assisting with data input, ranging from basic to complex, on Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Teams
6. Maintaining Outlook calendar, emails and accurate records
7. At times, providing exercise and environment enrichment for the supported person’s guide dog
8. Locating information from a variety of sources, including the internet, print and internal systems

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
9. A full UK driving licence, and confidence driving in new locations
10. Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with total integrity
11. Positive, team player, flexible, thorough, uses initiative and able to work effectively under pressure
12. Excellent interpersonal skills to develop close working relationships with the people being supported and a range of other stakeholders, including Executive Directors and Trustees
13. Computer literate with a good knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
14. Eligibility to work in the UK
