We are currently seeking to recruit a Financial Controller for the Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd Joint venture business, joining our Finance Team in Plymouth. Silicon Sensing Systems is a 50% owned joint venture with Japanese company Sumitomo Precision Products Ltd.
Role Overview:
We are currently searching for a Controller to join the Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd team within the Mission Systems Strategic Business Unit of Collins Aerospace. This Controller will be responsible for the accurate accounting for the UK company, the group consolidation, group analysis and reporting of the company financials.
You will work closely with both Plymouth and Japan management teams to understand the business, and report for the UK and consolidated group financials. You will be responsible for the group financial reporting and will provide support to executive leadership for the presentation of financial information regarding the state of the business.
In addition to this, you will also be responsible for accurately accounting for all financial transactions, reconciling, understanding and confirming our financial position, and lead all audit work for the business.
Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure the accuracy and controls in the financial transactions for the business.
* Provide financial support to the other functions and managers in the business.
* Financial Planning, generating the UK budget and 5 year plan, and consolidation of the group forecasts, understand the forecasts and validating the risks and opportunities to present to the management teams and the Directors
* Understanding detailed analysis of variances and summary of changes to support presentations to leadership
* Consolidation, generation of monthly management accounts and presentation of financial data to the Management team and Directors. Validating current year risks and opportunities to ensure that the Directors and management are informed of the financial status and impact.
* ERP implementation support to the Japan finance team.
* PWC Statutory Accounts, Taxation calculations and audit.
* Provide a mentor role to the other members of the finance team in the business.
Essential Qualifications:
* This role requires University Degree and demonstrable relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and proven relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Qualified accountant or Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong financial and analytical skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
* Previous experience working with an ERP
