Job Summary
Tidal Living is a new, psychologist-led domiciliary care agency specialising in dementia care at home in London. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated dementia care specialist to provide early morning support to a gentleman living with dementia in Central London.
Unlike traditional care providers, our services are directed by an experienced psychotherapist who understands the emotional and psychological impact of dementia on both clients and their families. This is an exceptional opportunity to join our founding team and help us set the standard for person-centred dementia care in Central London, with paid employment from the outset.
The Role
You will provide high-quality, person-centred support to help the client start his day with dignity, confidence and comfort. The client may occasionally resist help, saying he does not need support. We are looking for someone with the patience, empathy and dementia expertise to manage this sensitively and build trust.

* Start time: 6:45 AM
* Duration: Approximately 90 minutes (finishing by 8:15 AM)
* Days: Monday, Thursday, Friday (with potential to expand to Monday-Friday)
* Location: W2, Paddington
This role is ideal for someone who prefers early finishes and wants their afternoons free, has other commitments or studies later in the day, or values quality one-to-one care over rushing between multiple clients.
Responsibilities
* Arrive at 6:45 AM to support the client to wake and orientate
* Provide discreet and sensitive assistance with bathing, personal hygiene and grooming
* Support the client to dress appropriately and comfortably
* Prepare the client for breakfast with others at 7:45 AM

* Complete a brief care log after each visit
* Engage the client through compassionate care and effective behaviour management techniques
* Maintain a safe, clean and respectful environment
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in dementia care (minimum 6 months)
* Subscribed to the DBS Update Service (or willing to subscribe immediately upon offer)
* Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists check (clear or willing to undergo)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patient, calm and compassionate approach
* Reliable and punctual; early morning starts are essential
* Right to work in the UK
* Comfortable working independently
Desirable Skills
* NVQ / QCF Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care
* Training in managing challenging behaviour in dementia
* Knowledge of person-centred care approaches and behaviour management techniques
* Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
* Experience with Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or senior care practices
* Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies
This role provides an enriching career opportunity for those passionate about caring for others. Successful applicants will demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional support tailored to each individual's needs.
