Electrician
Salary: £46,177.30 including £3,000 additional allowances
Contract: Permanent – Full Time Monday‑Friday – 39 hours
Location: HMP Grendon Springhill – HP18 0TL
We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Grendon Springhill. HMP Grendon is a Category B training prison, while HMP Springhill is a Category D open prison, and they are jointly managed and maintained by the same facilities team.
About the Role
As an Electrician you will work alongside experienced colleagues—plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, administrators—to provide a safe and secure environment for all.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
* Two years’ experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
