About the role
The UCL Department of Geography is seeking to appoint a one-year fixed term Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Social Data Science and Cartography at from September .
The position will support teaching across the department, with a strong focus on spatial data, social data science, and cartography. The Department encourages applications from those trained in relevant aspects of quantitative geography (in particular spatial statistics) with confidence in the use of GIS and data visualisation, and in the application of geospatial analyses across a range of data sets, with an aptitude for teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and the ability to undertake tutorial support across our first-year curriculum.

This is a, one-year fixed term role to cover a member of staff. The funding end date is 31st August. The salary range for this position is Grade 7, SP 33-37: £47, - £52, per annum, pro-rata (including London Allowance).

About you
Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline by the time they begin their appointment and demonstrate expertise in the areas to be taught. Applicants must demonstrate an aptitude for teaching and developing Geography modules at both undergraduate and graduate levels and be committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students. Excellent presentation and teaching communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively and to deadlines is essential.
