Windows Engineer
Location: Stevenage – Office Based
Salary: £40,000–£48,000 (DOE) + Benefits
About the Role
A global IT services provider is looking for a Windows Engineer to join their on-site team in Stevenage, supporting enterprise infrastructure within a secure, structured environment. This is a technically hands-on role where you'll be responsible for delivering and improving core Microsoft-based services and resolving complex infrastructure issues as part of a critical service operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert support across Windows-based systems and infrastructure
* Implement and document technical changes via established change control processes
* Contribute to service performance monitoring and incident/problem resolution
* Support technical project delivery under guidance of project managers
* Analyse service data and trends to proactively improve system performance
* Train and coach team members, and act as an escalation point for service issues
* Maintain strong awareness of the business context and customer needs
Qualifications and Skills
* Solid experience with Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure
* Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management processes
* Comfortable working with structured SLAs and statistical service reporting
* Knowledge of Active Directory, system software, and IT operations
* Team-oriented with a proactive approach to technical troubleshooting
* Any exposure to secure or high-availability environments is a plus
