ETF Sales Associate
First Trust is a US headquartered asset manager with over $300bn in global AUM. We were founded in Chicago but now have offices in a range of global locations across Europe, North America and Asia.
We are looking for a highly motivated, competitive self-starter to join our internal sales team in our European head office in London. This opening is an English-speaking position in which the successful candidate will be responsible for distribution to clients in the UK, Sweden and Denmark.
Demonstrable success in a competitive environment is necessary. We recruit based on profile so direct industry experience is not essential but a basic knowledge of financial markets is preferred.
You will be paid a competitive basic salary along with an uncapped performance-related bonus which is paid quarterly.

Primary Responsibilities
Working with your external wholesaling partner, you will be responsible for ETF distribution to English-speaking clients. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Identifying and contacting prospective clients via phone call, email, and social with the aim of developing relationships and booking meetings for your external partner. You will be expected to make a minimum number of outbound sales calls per day.
* Relationship management - Maintaining existing client relationships, making follow-up calls.
* Managing the CRM system, ensuring calls and meetings are tracked correctly and client data is kept up to date.
* Building trust with clients through ongoing communication, utilising First Trust resources (market commentaries, webinars, lunch presentations etc.).
* Dealing with inbound client requests for information, portfolio analysis, fund comparisons etc.
* Driving attendance to and attending events, lunches and dinners.
* Developing market intelligence, and keeping up to date with market news and industry trends to assist in client conversations.
* Developing extensive knowledge of the First Trust ETF range.
Must Have
* An undergraduate degree (or highly relevant professional experience)
* The desire to learn new concepts and deepen your existing financial knowledge
* Demonstrable experience of selling successfully
* Experience in a competitive environment - this could be sporting, professional etc.
* Natural confidence - you should be confident in speaking to clients on the phone, via conference call and when meeting them in person.

* An articulate telephone manner - you should be able to communicate complicated ideas.
* Resilience - you must be able to deal with setbacks and rejection and be able to work under pressure.
* Competitiveness - you should have a natural desire to be the most successful among your peers. A sporting background is preferred, though not required.
* Strong organisational skills - you will be responsible for managing a pipeline of opportunities.
* Experience in lead generation - experience utilising tools such as Sales Navigator would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of financial markets – any knowledge of markets and investing will help you hit the ground running in the role.
