Maintenance Engineer
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
Pay: £13.13/hour
Breaks: 30-minute unpaid break per day
On-Call: Participation in an on-call rota for emergency maintenance issues

Role Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a supportive team. The role offers scope for progression, with a view to stepping into a Supervisor position within a few months.
You'll be working alongside an existing maintenance team member so your contribution will be essential to the smooth running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform minor repairs and ensure audit requirements are met promptly
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and internal policies
* Conduct routine tests and checks on home systems (weekly, monthly, annually)
* Carry out planned maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, and refurbishments
* Assemble and install new equipment as needed
* Maintain the home's grounds — ensuring pathways are safe and plants are well cared for
* Ensure all lighting and signage (internal and external) are operational and visible
* Liaise with contractors and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
* Manage maintenance budgets effectively
* Identify and report defects and maintenance issues
* Ensure heating, lighting, plumbing, and non-medical equipment are fully operational
* Participate in the emergency on-call rota
Requirements
* Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
* Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
* Practical skills in plumbing, painting, and general repairs
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* A proactive, reliable, and community-minded attitude
* Willingness to grow into a supervisory role
