A global law firm in Birmingham is seeking a 0-3 PQE Associate to join its busy Asset Management and Corporate Occupier team based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior real estate lawyer to develop their career within a fast‑paced, high‑performing practice, working closely with senior lawyers and directly with clients.
The Role
The Associate will work as part of a collaborative and supportive team, providing high-quality asset management services to investors and supporting a broad range of occupier clients, including those in specialist sectors such as telecoms.
The role includes managing a personal caseload and working directly with partners, senior associates, clients and agents. Work will cover a wide range of leasehold transactions, including:
1. Granting new leases
2. Lease renewals
3. Re-gears
4. Surrenders
5. Licences for works
6. Dealing with landlord and tenant matters
7. Wayleaves
There will also be opportunities to handle freehold acquisitions and disposals and to support larger transactions involving wider team collaboration, such as major acquisitions or finance projects.
The Associate will work closely with other teams within the real estate department to coordinate and deliver a seamless service to clients.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
8. Up to months’ experience in landlord and tenant work, although NQs with strong transactional real estate experience are encouraged to apply
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
10. Confidence in obtaining instructions and speaking directly with clients and agents
11. A proactive approach to building and maintaining client relationships
12. A willingness to understand clients’ commercial drivers and provide practical, solutions‑focused advice
13. Strong organisation, diary management and general tech capability
14. Confidence in handling the financial aspects of the role, including time recording, billing and cashflow management
