Overview
Seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to support and care for residents in a modern, regency-style nursing home. The role involves delivering high-quality, person‑centred care while fostering independence, dignity and enjoyment for all residents.

Team members under 21 will be paid at £1.00 per hour less, which remains above the National Minimum Wage for that age group.
A little about Avenue House Nursing and Care Home
Avenue House is located just outside Rushden in a modern regency building. The home offers personal, nursing and dementia care for 48 residents.

Day to Day Responsibilities
 * Provide highest standards of care in all aspects of resident daily living.
 * Promote resident independence, choice, dignity and respect while supporting physical and emotional wellbeing.
 * Lead the shift to maintain high standards and support team members.
 * Complete daily medication rounds accurately and complete all required charts.
 * Promote good practice and challenge poor practice; facilitate one‑to‑one sessions for all care team members every two months.
 * Investigate complaints and concerns under guidance of the Home Manager.
Essential Requirements
 * Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
 * Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
 * Knowledge of Person‑Centred Care Planning principles.
 * Understanding and prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, including recognition of signs and procedures for allegations.
 * Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
Preferred Requirements
 * Two years’ experience in a senior care role at a nursing home.
 * Experience caring for residents with dementia.
 * NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above.
 * Knowledge of the National Care Standards Act 2000.
 * Experience conducting person‑centred one‑to‑one sessions.
 * Team leadership experience.
