Summary of Role
We are looking for experienced CPCS/NPORS Trainers to join our teams based in Wembley, Manchester, Birmingham, and Newport offices. As a Plant Trainer/Assessor, you will deliver plant and safety assessments, training, and testing to support the operational business in line with internal and external requirements.
Duties Include:
1. Ensure all assessments, training, and testing comply with awarding organisation and partner card scheme requirements and/or Flannery standards.
2. Deliver industry-recognised qualifications within Construction Plant, Health & Safety as required. This will include both Commercial and Apprenticeship Training programmes.
3. Report as required to the Head of Skills & Training on all aspects of training and delivery.
4. Contribute to teaching resources including a comprehensive scheme of work and session planning for all associated subject areas.
5. Develop and maintain supporting documentation from enrolment, ILP, progression monitoring through to feedback.
6. Develop and maintain observations of teaching and learning.
7. Develop and maintain Flannery operator assessments.
8. Develop and maintain Compliance Plus Assessments.
9. Liaise as appropriate to maintain delivery in line with DfE or ESFA requirements including prevent and safeguarding.
10. Accurately complete registers, learner enrolments, and completions.
11. Manage learner behaviour and challenge negative behaviour appropriately, following all hub policies and procedures.
12. Differentiation of learning to meet individual learners’ needs including the provision of additional support for learners with LDD needs.
13. Embed functional skills within the delivery of all funded programmes and liaise with associated staff as required.
14. Actively promote Equality and Diversity and Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect.
15. Actively market and promote the hub and recruit learners to courses.
16. Participate in staff appraisal and related activities and undertake staff development and training arising from this or from the needs of hub training and education requirements.
17. Complete evaluation and course reviews including monitoring and review of achievement and retention data specific to course delivery.
18. Work effectively in partnership with the Operator Skills Hub and all other internal and external partners.
19. Engage employers/supplier partners to employ learners and support course delivery of the curriculum.
20. Develop and maintain the hub quality assurance processes by monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating all aspects of courses and implementing resulting actions for improvement.
21. Comply with any awarding organisation or partner card scheme requirements in relation to External Quality Assurance (EQA) within the curriculum area.
22. Fully engage and comply with both internal and external audits, including adherence to Awarding Organisations and partner card scheme policies and procedures.
23. Participate fully in all hub publicity and public relations events including open events as requested.
24. Implement good practice in respect of hub Education, Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Child Protection, and GDPR policies.
25. Fulfil all security requirements of the hub regarding learners, equipment, and professional conduct.
26. Ensure all personal data is collected, stored, and processed in line with the Data Protection Act (DPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Company Policies.
27. Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Plant Trainer & Assessor Qualifications from the relevant industry schemes (NPORS & CPCS).
2. Knowledge of construction partner card schemes including CPCS, NPORS, CITB, and Lantra.
3. Ability to deliver training standards against the occupational requirement.
4. Knowledge of health and safety.
5. Good communicator with the ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
6. Intermediate level Excel and PowerPoint.
