Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: SG CONSTRUCTION The Yard Operative will support the day-to-day running of the builder’s yard by maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment. The role involves handling materials, preparing orders for collection, and supporting site teams. Full training and supervision will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised.
* Preparing materials and equipment for collection by site teams.
* Loading and unloading materials safely.
* Organising and storing materials correctly in the yard.
* Assisting with stock checks and basic record keeping.
* Maintaining a safe working environment.
* Following health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Ability to carry out physical work.
* Willingness to follow instructions and safety procedures.
* Good time management.
* Awareness of basic health and safety practices.
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience in a yard or construction environment (not essential).
* Manual handling awareness.
* Basic knowledge of construction materials.
* Organisational skills.
