A Senior Day Coach (Senior Residential Support Worker) at SuperCare provides both direct care to the children and guidance to less experienced colleagues. You'll be a role model in the home, showing others how to use PECS effectively, how to remain calm when a child lashes out, and how to approach personal care with dignity. You won't be leading shifts, but you'll be the experienced pair of hands that helps everything run smoothly. What You'll Do: Alongside supporting children with personal care, medication, and daily routines, you will: Model trauma-informed, low-arousal approaches during incidents. Support colleagues in responding to challenging behaviour with calmness and consistency. Encourage new staff to build confidence in communication tools like PECS and Makaton. Assist the Team Leader in ensuring routines are followed and children feel secure. What We're Looking For You'll need at least 2 years' experience in SEN, learning disability, or residential care settings, and ideally a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. More importantly, you'll be patient, reflective, and committed to supporting both children and colleagues with warmth and steadiness.
