Job Description Nights Care Assistant - Floating across Leamington, Stratford, Wellesbourne & Southam (9:00pm to 7:00am) Training in Stratford Upon Avon As a Caregiver with Unique Senior Care, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional, person-centred care that meets and exceeds both regulatory and contractual standards. You will support clients in line with their agreed care plans, always ensuring dignity, respect, and compassion in every interaction. You will provide person-centred care, tailoring support to meet each client’s individual needs. You will also promote independence, encouraging clients to do as much as they can for themselves while offering support where required. As a Caregiver, you are responsible for uphold safeguarding responsibilities, p, protecting clients from harm, abuse, or neglect, and following the company’s whistleblowing policy to raise any concerns. You will demonstrate professional behaviour, representing Unique Senior Care positively, and work in partnership with NHS teams, Social Work departments, and community organisations. Key Responsibilities Personal Care & Wellbeing Assisting with bathing, washing, oral care, shaving and dressing and grooming. Assistance with continence care including: support to the toilet, catheter care, pads etc. Support with nutrition and hydration ensuring that clients are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet and the correct quantities, prepared meals look appetising and make sure the way they eat is appropriate for the client’s specific needs. Assist with medication: supporting with the administering or prompting of medication and completing the Medication Administration Record. Assisting with mobility from offering guidance and encouragement to using a range of mobility aids from walking frames to hoists to transfer clients, or assistance in standing and movement and assisting with any physical activity whereby the client needs support. Promoting health: Infection and control, skin integrity, understanding illnesses including age-related illnesses such as dementia, and supporting with emergency first aid where necessary. Companionship & Social Support Provide Effective Companionship Services That Include Simply talking and listening to clients at each call to prevent loneliness and isolation. Building positive relationships. Arrange stimulating activities and outings that meet the client’s needs such as listening to music, arts and crafts, visiting the local parks and greenspaces, visiting cafes, pubs and local groups. Arrange and accompany to medical appointments and liaise with health professionals. Support with reading mail and email communication. Encourage reminiscence activity for those who are living with dementia. Home Help & Domestic Support Washing and drying up of pots and dishes, ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and hygienic for the client’s use. Cleaning of kitchen and bathroom surfaces to prevent the spread of infection and maintain a healthy living environment. Dusting and vacuuming regularly to keep the home clean, tidy, and comfortable for the client. Making and changing beds, ensuring fresh, clean linen to promote comfort, rest, and dignity. Laundry duties including washing and ironing, making sure clothes and personal items are well cared for and presented neatly. Organising and tidying cupboards, helping clients maintain a safe and accessible living space. Running errands and collecting prescriptions to support the client’s daily needs and health requirements. Removal of refuse and recycling in line with household and local authority guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Providing assistance with pet care such as feeding, walking, or cleaning, helping clients to continue enjoying the companionship of their animals. Supporting with shopping and managing finances, ensuring that clients have access to essential supplies and are supported with budgeting where required. Monitoring food freshness and storage, making sure all food is eaten within its best before date and stored safely. Maintaining a well-organised fridge and freezer, ensuring that raw meats are kept on the lower shelf to prevent contamination and safeguard client health. Record Keeping & Reporting Maintain accurate and timely daily client log notes. Complete medication administration records in line with company policies and procedures. Record and report all accidents and incidents promptly and appropriately. Keep clear and accurate records of client-related expenditure. To be able to complete moving and handling tasks and basic life support if required Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette. Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Desirable Requirements Previous experience working in a care or healthcare environment. Knowledge and understanding of dementia care and age-related illnesses. Flexible approach to work, including availability for evenings and weekends if required.
