Director of Performance - Executive Operating Partner
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Hybrid - Maidenhead, Berkshire (flexible working, 3 days in office per week - UK travel needed)
Salary: Up to £100,000 per annum + £6,000 car allowance + bonus + extensive company benefits

The opportunity
We're a private equity-backed company, looking to build the UK's leading end-of-life business, and we're doing it at pace. This is an extremely attractive opportunity to work alongside an experienced and high-calibre executive team on a turnaround mission. You'll be the operating partner to the Managing Director of Crematoria (James Wintle) and the CEO (Zillah Byng-Thorne) at a critical moment in the business's transformation. The role will bring significant responsibility and autonomy alongside high exposure to the executive team.

Who we are
We're the UK's largest end-of-life business, and across the group, more than 4,000 people support tens of thousands of families every week through some of life's most important moments.

The Crematorium & Memorial Group sits at the heart of this mission, as a £100m revenue, c.£50m EBITDA business with 45 crematoria, 350 colleagues, and over 70,000 cremations a year.

The business has significant growth potential, and our focus over the next three years is on realising that opportunity and building something of lasting value to our customers, our teams and our shareholders.

About the role
We're looking for an intelligent, driven operator to work directly alongside our Managing Director of Crematoria, James Wintle, whilst also closely supporting our CEO, Zillah Byng-Thorne. You'll sit at the centre of a fast-moving, PE-backed organisation, working on the initiatives that will shape the next decade of the business.

You'll be James's right-hand partner working across all parts of the business; driving performance, creating a high-performing culture, building and implementing new strategic initiatives, and supporting capital allocation decisions.

What you'll do
You will be an operating partner to the Executive Leadership Team, which means the range of things you work on will be both diverse and impactful. Our expectation is that we will set the objectives, you will figure out the solution, and you will deliver the outcome. The focus will predominantly be on the crematoria division, but you will certainly end up working across all parts of the business. This could include the following: Support the executive team to deliver new initiatives across the business and embed them into the organisation.
Build new strategic initiatives to increase our memorial revenue, rolling out and embedding these initiatives across the division.
Support the exec team by analysing site and regional performance and come up with solutions and initiatives to improve it.
Shape and launch an entirely new brand into the market and own this process end-to-end.
Support improved digital presence and performance of our business online.
Support building a high-performing culture by shaping standards, training and frameworks that raise performance across the whole division.
Play a key role in our capital allocation project - through both analysis and identification of opportunities across the market (both organic and inorganic).

Annual salary of up to £100,000
