Job Summary
At Scotch & Rye we are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our dishes while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
* Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assist in menu planning and inventory management to maintain stock levels.
* Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to guests.
* Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques.
* Assist with catering events as required, ensuring high standards of service.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
* Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques.
* Experience in banquet service, fine dining, or restaurant management is preferred.
* Familiarity with inventory control, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of dietary restrictions and menu planning is a plus.

Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
