Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Derry/Londonderry to recruit a full-time and permanent Maintenance Technician.
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is serviced, operates smoothly, and is maintained to a high standard, with safety as the top priority.
You will work closely with the manufacturing team to address complex process issues, machine upgrades, and recurring problems, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
Duties
1. Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate.
2. Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and related documentation.
3. Comply with all Health & Safety policies and actively promote safe behavior and systems of work.
4. Work on material converting machines concerning repairs and breakdowns of electrical and mechanical nature, maintaining safety systems.
5. Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks according to SOPs and schedules.
6. Manage stores inventory to maintain minimum stock levels using appropriate systems.
7. Lead continuous improvement projects aligned with company goals and objectives.
8. Take opportunities to lead projects, train others, and be part of a world-class team of technicians.
9. Learn new processes and complete necessary training to grow within the organization.
10. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
11. Qualifications: Completed an Electrical apprenticeship, obtained an ONC in electrical engineering or equivalent, with three years' post-apprenticeship experience in a multi-batch production environment with a multi-skilled bias.
12. Proven knowledge of COSHH and relevant H&S regulations.
13. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for machine issues.
14. Good knowledge of PLCs, pneumatics, control systems (e.g., transducers, signal conversion, temperature), and basic building maintenance.
Note: This role is based in Northern Ireland, not London. It requires working a 24/7 shift pattern: two weeks of days (7am-7pm) and two weeks of nights (7pm-7am).
