We're partnering with a global pharmaceutical leader operating across 100+ countries to find a strategic and hands-on
Director of Finance
to lead their UK & Ireland operations.
With a workforce of over 3,000 employees globally, the company is recognized for its innovation in research, development, and manufacturing within the life sciences space.
This is a critical leadership position overseeing all financial operations, reporting directly into global leadership and working cross-functionally with key departments including R&D, production, commercial, and regulatory affairs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all financial strategy and operations for the UK & Ireland region
* Ensure the stability and compliance of accounting process. AP, O2C, R2R, treasury, Payrol
* Own the full financial cycle: planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
* Ensure timely delivery of financial reports and statutory filings in line with IFRS and local regulations
* Support licensing deals, partnerships, M&A activities, and due diligence efforts
* Guide and develop the finance, controlling, tax, treasury, and procurement teams
* Maintain strong risk management and ensure compliance with industry and financial regulations (e.g., GMP, GxP, FDA, EMA)
* Develop KPIs and financial models to inform and support executive decision-making
* Collaborate closely with commercial, R&D, and operations teams to support growth initiatives
Requirements
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
* At least 8 years' experience in FP&A, business partnering, or financial leadership—preferably in pharma, biotech, or medtech
* Solid understanding of accounting, controlling, audits, and compliance frameworks
* Experience with clinical trial budgeting, reimbursement, and potentially grants
* Strong knowledge of IFRS and capital market processes
* Proven leadership and people management skills
* Exceptional /very advanced skills in use of excel, reporting tools (BW, SAC), ERP (SAP4Hana) is essential
* Exceptional verbal and written English language skills
