We are currently recruiting for a Process Quality Engineer to join a growing engineering business. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring robust quality control across production, while also providing first-line manufacturing engineering support.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain high product standards. Ideally you will be trained in LEAN or other continuous improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities: -
Provide daily hands-on Quality Control support within production
Monitor performance, investigate defects, and resolve line stoppages using root cause analysis
Report on quality performance
Investigating customer returns and supplier defects, identifying root causes and corrective actions
Support compliance with ISO 9001, PED, and ATEX standards
Develop and improve SOPs and inspection processes
Support and train production teams on quality standards and procedures
Assist with design and implementation of production and test equipment
Support maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement activities
Assist with engineering change processes (ECO/ECN)
Maintain technical documentation, manuals, and procedures
Ensure compliance with company quality systems, documentation, and Health & Safety requirements
About You: -
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong understanding of quality and lean principles
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and perform inspections
Experience with assembly and testing of mechanical products
Confident working independently and within cross-functional teams
Desirable Experience: -
Knowledge of PED and ATEX standards
Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor)
Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, castings, or electrical systems
Familiarity with FMEA processes (DFMEA/PFMEA)
