About the Role We are seeking a proactive and reliable School Site Manager to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring our school buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant, creating a secure and positive environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance (basic carpentry, plumbing, painting). Conduct routine inspections and respond promptly to maintenance issues. Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety and water hygiene checks. Maintain external areas such as playgrounds, paths, and car parks. Assist with site security, opening/closing procedures, and emergency responses. Log completed works and assist with audits and inspections. Provide support for school activities and liaise courteously with staff, pupils, and visitors. What We’re Looking For Practical experience in building maintenance, caretaking, or facilities work. Good knowledge of health and safety regulations. Ability to carry out minor repairs safely and competently. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Flexible, trustworthy, and child-focused approach. Desirable: Experience in a school or education setting. Basic trade qualifications or NVQs. Familiarity with fire safety and water hygiene procedures. Requirements: Full UK driving licence (if multi-site). Willingness to undergo DBS checks. Basic IT skills for logging jobs and emails.
