RSW are looking to recruit experienced Machine Setters for their client based in Tredegar. They have 3 exciting new OEM Projects starting, where you will be able to manage and support the successful launch, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Mould Setup and Configuration:
Accurately installing, securing, and aligning moulds on the injection moulding machines based on production specifications.
Configuring machine parameters, including injection speed, pressure, temperature, and cooling systems, to ensure consistent product quality.
Production Monitoring:
Conducting initial trial runs to verify the mould and machine settings produce parts that meet dimensional and aesthetic standards.
Continuously monitoring production output to detect and address defects or inconsistencies.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing and resolving issues, such as material flow problems, cooling system malfunctions, or machine faults.
Minimising downtime by implementing efficient solutions or coordinating repairs when necessary.
Quality Assurance:
Performing routine inspections of moulded components using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure adherence to specifications.
Maintaining proper documentation of quality checks and machine settings to facilitate traceability.
Maintenance and Optimisation:
Ensuring machines and moulds are kept in optimal working condition by performing preventative maintenance and cleaning.
Suggesting improvements to mould design or machine settings to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Health & Safety:
Following workplace safety procedures and ensuring a safe working environment when handling heavy moulds, hot components, or hazardous materials.
Maintaining a clean and organized workstation to prevent accidents or damage to equipment.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency: Ability to read technical drawings, understand moulding parameters, and operate complex machinery.
Problem-Solving Skills: Quick thinking to identify root causes of production issues and implement effective solutions.
Attention to Detail: Precision in setting machines and checking product quality to meet tight specifications.
Physical Fitness: Capability to handle manual tasks such as lifting moulds and working in a fast-paced environment
