The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.

With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.

Political Affairs Programme

This role focuses on making poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. It is a part-time, unpaid remote programme, requiring 12 hours per week for 12 weeks. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the programme in fewer weeks.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
2. Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency.
3. Representing The Borgen Project at various events.
4. Assisting with fundraising, creating personal campaigns, and meeting targets.
5. Mobilizing individuals to contact their government representatives.
6. Speaking to groups, classes, and organizations.
7. Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders and media.

Experience

No prior experience is necessary. We seek passionate individuals committed to fighting poverty, regardless of background or GPA.

Details

This is an unpaid programme; college credit may be available.

Start Date

New programmes start every month; you can choose your start month.
