Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals in their homes, ensuring they receive the care they need to maintain their independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with the ability to manage various tasks that contribute to the well-being of our clients.
Duties
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required.
* Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during transfers.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with specific needs.
* Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a trusting relationship with clients.
* Administer basic first aid when needed and ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition, communicating effectively with other care team members.
* Provide home care services, including light housekeeping and meal preparation, tailored to the individual needs of each client.
* Support hospice care for clients nearing the end of life, ensuring dignity and comfort during this sensitive time.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in childcare or patient care is highly desirable.
* A valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients.
* Familiarity with home care practices and principles is beneficial.
* Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification is required.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
* Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of clients is preferred.
