Our client is an Integrated Energy company, and trader of Commodity and Energy products including, Gas, Power, LNG, and Oil, based in Central London. They offer a unique chance to work within a growing and diversifying business, with a strong commercial appetite.
This role exists within the wider Oil Products Operations team and will join the team as the Senior Operator for Gasoline & Naphtha trading operations. The business is looking for a candidate with proven experience in Oil Products operations, whilst the role will cover all Gasoline and Naphtha operations and blending.
The successful candidate will be driven, proactive, with a huge appetite to succeed and is willing and able to improve existing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. Ability to co-ordinate and oversee large portfolio of cargoes across regions for all light ends products including Gasoline and Naphtha, Experience in blending operations and managing a 3rd party storage terminal operating both cargoes and barges.
2. Strong working knowledge of gasoline blend components, including reformate, alkylate, isomerate, straight-run naphtha, MTBE/ETBE, ethanol, and other oxygenates. Understanding of the functional role of each component in achieving finished-grade specifications.
3. Ability to assess blending options and constraints to meet regional and contractual gasoline specifications.
4. Co-ordinating operations from trade inception to completion relating to products.
5. Obtain clean acceptance of vessels in a timely manner.
6. Issue voyage orders to shipping/counter-parties and monitor progress of vessel, informing trading of any slippage or speed-ups in a timely manner.
7. Appoint approved inspectors as required.
8. Ensure cargo loading and discharging adhere to any credit or L/C requirements.
9. Accurately update Trading systems in a timely fashion.
10. Check all calculations relating to the trade (freight & freight diff, interim port calculations, demurrage, inspectors, cargo superintendents, gains/losses, insurance and additives).
11. Minimize profit leakage.
12. Make or assist in claims where necessary.
13. Establishing and maintaining good and professional working relationships with internal and external counterparties.
14. Maintain accurate records of each cargo including prompt and accurate filing.
15. Maintain excellent HSE standards.
16. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
17. Ensure compliance with all operational processes.
18. Co-ordination with Financial accounting team for Month & Qtr end, with regards to Accruals and Inventory reporting.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
19. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
20. Commercial Experience – Desired. Minimum 3 years operations experience.
