Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Unqualified: A base salary of £, per annum with the potential to earn up to £, with sleep-in shifts.
Qualified: A base salary of £, per annum with the potential to earn up to £, with sleep-in shifts.
(Qualified Care Worker salary is based on the proven existing completion of a Level Diploma for Residential Childcare)
North Lakes Children’s Services is a well-established local provider of residential care and education for boys aged -. We focus on improving resilience, self-esteem, and abilities of the young people we work with.
Main Duties:
* Supporting daily routines including personal hygiene, meals, school runs or activities.
* Supporting room cleaning, developing life skills, promoting socialization, and supporting bedtime routines.
* Attending medical and other appointments.
* Supporting activity plans.
* Completing day sheets and working on targets with the boys.
* Completing all necessary paperwork, including handovers and daily reports.
* Managing household tasks such as cleaning, shopping, meal preparation, and laundry.
* Performing specific checks like COSHH, fire, and vehicle checks.
* Building relationships with families and planning family contact times.
As a Keyworker, you will build strong bonds and create positive experiences for the young people, demonstrating warmth, empathy, and genuine care.
Requirements:
* Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-in nights.
* Understanding of issues faced by young people in care.
* Diploma or equivalent in Residential Childcare, Families Practitioner, Children and Young People's Workforce, or willingness to work towards it.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
* Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check (paid for by employer).
* Experience with EBD, social/residential work, or youth work is advantageous.
* Full, clean UK driving license and ability to cover other residences as needed.
