Overview
We are seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join our growing Scottish Roads and Highways team. As a Senior Highways Engineer you will be responsible for delivery of a wide range of different projects as part of a close-knit and supportive team. Working in collaboration with multiple different discipline experts across the business, you will help to deliver solutions for our clients. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our clients, including Local Authorities and Design and Build Contractors. Our portfolio includes a variety of roads and highways projects from smaller scale local improvements to large national strategic schemes and frameworks. You will contribute to the technical delivery of projects while working closely with our clients to influence the development of highways schemes in the region. We also work with and support teams across the UK to deliver schemes for clients, both big and small.
We have Scottish offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, situated in the heart of both cities. We offer a welcoming environment to work in and offer hybrid and flexible working options.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the work of others and lead/mentor junior engineers and technicians to ensure high quality output.
* Help shape and build the SCOTLAND-based team as it grows, with opportunities for career progression within Stantec.
* Deliver high-quality transport infrastructure solutions for a range of clients, including Local Authorities and Design and Build Contractors.
* Collaborate with multiple disciplines across the business to deliver highway projects from concept through to delivery.
* Engage with clients to influence the development of highway schemes in the region and contribute to technical delivery of projects.
* Collaborate with UK teams to deliver schemes for clients of varying scales.
About You
* You will be BSc/BEng/MEng qualified and Incorporated or Chartered (or on route to Chartership).
* You will have expertise in highway infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle – from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and delivery.
* Ideally, you will have knowledge of CDM, BIM and DMRB and experience of Civil 3D.
* It is anticipated that the ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge across highway engineering disciplines.
* You will be passionate about delivering quality infrastructure design solutions, with strong engineering principles, attention to detail, pragmatism, and a drive to learn and share knowledge.
