Summary
The role involves operationally managing and completing 11kV & 33kV SAP duties on the UKPN DNP&P contract, delivering all work activities including OH & UG network reinforcement, diversions, and new connections while adhering to safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications in a timely manner. The role reports to the Operations Manager / Portfolio Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Operationally deliver multiple projects safely, competently, and effectively to schedule;
2. Guide team members to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient implementation of operations;
3. Conduct network feasibility studies with minimal customer interruption;
4. Follow safety rules and procedures, providing guidance when necessary;
5. Liaise with third-party network operators for smooth project implementation;
6. Maintain site safety and complete risk assessments;
7. Report SHE concerns to the SHE team;
8. Ensure all statutory records, certificates, licenses, notifications, and notices are up to date;
9. Complete test documents and asset registrations.
Qualifications and experience required:
1. Extensive experience with SAP duties;
2. Knowledge of distribution substation equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards;
3. Understanding of overhead network operations;
4. Experience working on switchgear, substations, and asset replacement projects;
5. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and their practical application;
6. CDM regulation knowledge;
7. HNC qualification or higher;
8. Safety-related certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS;
9. NRSWA accreditation.
