As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform/Data Protection and Recovery organization, you will utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job responsibilities
1. Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
2. Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
3. Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
4. Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
5. Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
6. Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
7. Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
8. Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers.
9. Manages incidents, performs root cause analysis, and implements post-mortem processes to learn from failures and prevent them in the future.
10. Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems.
11. Designs systems that can scale efficiently to handle increased load and demand. This includes capacity planning and performance optimization.
12. Implements robust monitoring and observability practices to detect issues before they impact users. This includes setting up alerts, dashboards, and logging.
13. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
14. 5+ years as Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment, with experience in Data Protection, Storage, Compute, or Network
15. Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
16. Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (., Scripting, Python,
17. Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
18. Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
19. This is a 3 days position, and may require occasional flexibility (change on days) to drive successful project implementation
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
20. Experience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault
